Has anyone modded the lights or panel of the TP dash? I really dont like the Yellow/orange numbers and lighting. If anyone has any ideas or pics they would be helpful. I wish Mitsu had opted for white numbers and coloured globes, actually I would have liked white dials with blue backlighing, but anyways.
How hard is it to get to the globes as I would like to try some blue LED super brites for a laugh, I think this might work ok because the numbers look kinda blacklit (yes blacklit) with the ones Im using when I shine them on the front, the needle is visable aswell.
Ive seen a few cars with a printed transparency overtop of the original dials (dash background or whatever you call it), does anyone know where to get one/download the pic/make your own?
Thanx for any help!

Cool, looks like I have to get hold of a dash from a wreckers...and a Elite with a digital dash while Im at it.
The idea of photoshopping the scanned image so that the dials would be white is a good idea...still doesnt solve the problem of having the stupid coloured numbers though...unless theres a mystery colour that could be printed on the transparency that combines with the colour of the numbers to make blue...which I very much doubt.
I wonder how white dials with black numbers and frontlit with hidden blue lights would look like....prob dumb cause the numbers should be lit up...damn it, I think I'll just try it with the blue globes and see what stupid colour I get and if it looks half decent its gotta be better than it is now.
I read somewhere that theres a type of tape thats behind the dash where the light is supposed to shine through to light up the numbers, do you know if this is what makes it yellow or if its the actual plastic?

Well i thought i might take a few pics of what the dash looks like...it apears that theres a few layers to this and on the front side theres a layer of yellow/red then the other layer on top. so its not the actual palastic as its complealy see threw its just got layers over it. you could try any see if a transparent face over the top thats blue where the yellow shines threw you might be lucky and have it shine blue a lil....but dunno cos in doing that it would make the light daller
Ive tryed using blue leds and green globes but it only chages the colour tone of the orange
this is with the light shining threw the back:

the back of it

the back of it with the light shinnin threw the front

Its very interesting how it works theres alot of reseach gone in to it so the light evans out. the thing the pics dont show is that the green that you can see on the back is on the other side of the clear dash but the white and black bits are printed on the back side
