Hey guys.

This sort of popped into my head after look at the rear of the chrysler. Anyone have a dual exhaust on their magna? Is the magna set-up for dual exhaust or does it have to be modded for that? Also roughly if you're running a dual exhaust system. How much did it cost you to do?

The magna is obviously not setup for a dual exhaust setup, that's why none came like that from factory.

Quite a few members have had dual exhaust setups installed in thier cars. There is space in the fwd models at the back for a reasonable sized muffler to fit on the other side. Piping has to be custom made and usually is split from the factory piping before where the muffler flange is connecting to the exhaust piping.

Here in Vic I know that member "Nemesis", "Wiggles" old red 'ralliart mockup' (MADDOG's old car) and "DanielsVRX" all had dual exhaust setup's. In NSW, I know "Ego" also has setup lke that.
I've seen and heard "Nemesis" exhaust setup and it sounds fantastic. I know a few years ago it cost him over $600.

The cost will vary depending on the labour charges of the exhaust shop and the piping material and mufflers you use.
The cheapest option would be to use a vrx/lukey main muffler and some steel piping to the other side of the car. A lukey/vrx muffler is around $150-200 and the piping work would be probably around $250. I've seen this setup before and the entire piping was rusted through.
The best would probably having two full size mufflers and aluminium piping. I'd estimate anywhere from $700 and up.

I did see a white wagon years ago with duel exhausts.

I had one done here on my old TF sports, had the quad tip set up, sounded pretty tough! I think I paid about 750 all up

My vrx has duals, it cost the previous owner over a grand but that included molding the rear bar to suit. It does sound awesome

Easier to do in a wagon than a sedan. You need to do a fair bit of plumbing to set it up. I was quoted $550 up from the $350 it cost me to do a cat back.

just wondering as i have a 01 vrx where would i get the other side of the rear kit to fit the other exhaust or do i have to get someone to custom fibre glass it?

GHS77 there's a thread in the archives somewhere where it was discussed on how to do it.

I know member DanielsVRX did it himself with some bog, but others had it professionally done and it cost a pretty penny.

The problem is that the VR-X bumper is made from ABS plastic and it's not easy to mould too or stick anything to it.

Back when you could easily get VR-X bits, the usual procedure was to get a spare rear insert (the VR-X kit is made of three pieces clips onto the standard TJ bumpers), and have the exhaust cut-out section plastic welded into place. Takes good precision, tools and skills.

This all sounds promising. Atleast it went that way instead of being a total loss. Hmm. Id be very interested in giving a go myself. But id need some help and guidance. Otherwise id just lose patience and not have a car at the end haha.
