Hi guys I've been keeping an eye on my coolant since I had my timing belt and water pump replaced. I didn't check before but I noticed the other day the coolant was low so I topped it up maybe a third up the neck. It's back down again, if I keep an eye on it and it continues to loose coolant but no visible evidence on the floor. Should I be worried? Oil is a little bit the same but I'm guessing at 200,000ks an engine will burn a little oil.. Again no visible evidence.
Thanks

I guess your talking about your overflow bottle?
How is the radiator itself?
Possibly a thermostat, the overflow is designed to let out excess coolant but the thermostat could be letting out to much and when it needs more is taking the level lower than it should. Are you checking it at temp or cold because the water level would change accordingly.
Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Maybe some one with better phrasing can explain better.

Makes perfect sense.
Common for the level to go down for a while after refilling the cooling system. Air is being pushed out the radiator to the overflow bottle when hot, sucks coolant back in as the car cools.
Just keep an eye on it.

Will do, will start to worry when bottom of the coolant overflow is empty, then i will check the radiator cap and see if i got fluid.

Couple of trips and it should settle down.
If it is still needing topping up there maybe a small leak somewhere. When the engine is cold take the top slowly off the radiatior. If it is full to the brim then by now all air should be out of the system.
If it was not losing water before the pump change then something has been disturbed and causing it. Vee
