I know with a FWD you want to upgrade the rear sway bar to reduce understeer. Would the fitment of a larger front sway bar (along with a larger rear sway bar) counter this improvment though? or would it again improve steering performance?
And, if it does futher again improve performance, does it do it by much? im guessing just upgrading a rear sway bar would be enough to get a decent difference?

Get a strut brace.

Installed a large front brace on my old Magna, didn't make a difference I found. Strut braces do =)

that was my original plan, then i saw one of those front sway bars and was just curious. But the strut brace sounds a much better option in that case!
