Hi team,

Looking to upgrade the TL to a 380 and have found this VRX - Carsales link (http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/mitsubishi-380-2006-13467830?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=13&page=2&eapi=2&__N=1216+1246+1247+1252+1282+4294964597+4294964376 +898&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=~Price)
Spoke to the guy selling it and he confirmed it has a RWC and full service history and the PPSR check came up good. The km's are probably a little higher than I would like but I think he's addressed that in the price.

Just wondering if there's anything in particular to check/look out for when looking at 380's or is it just the usual used car stuff?

I'm heading up to Sydney this weekend to look at it and would like to only make the one trip if I can help it so any thoughts/comments/advice would be appreciated.

Good price for a 380 VR-X with leather.

You might want to check if the timing belt has been replaced. I think they recommend 100k or 5 years whichever comes first. Should be in his service book if done. Mine cost $410 at Mitsu dealer

Very very nest car, and yes I think he has taken the km's into consideration. If it has been well maintained and has all log books etc. still use the high km to your advantage. I'd offer him $9000. He will probably say no but be firm and if he won't budge try adding 300-$500 on top and see how ya go :)

Just my 2c

It has leather? GTs really don't have that much extra stuff than VRXs, especially if they've been optioned. The only thing my car doesn't have that a GT does is the 3-memory seats and an ugly chrome strip across the boot.

Good price for the car. If it has been properly serviced then 120,xxxkms isn't really that much at all. So long as the body is in good nick and it's been maintained inside I reckon it would be a nice buy.

Only the series 3 GT had the chrome strip across the boot. Series 1 and 2 don't.

GT also has the chrome strip down the side, different interior inserts and instrument cluster, and an upgraded stereo (afaik).

GT also has a 10 way adjustable driver's seat, and the passenger is an electric 6 way seat. I think the VR-X has a 6 way driver's seat, and manual passenger? Not entirely sure.

Having said that, I really like my GT, but a VR-X with leather really isn't far off the mark.

Ended up finding pretty much the exact same car at a dealer in the ACT. Had it listed at $15,500, had a chat with him about the Sydney one and we ended up at $11,000 including 12 month warranty and roadside assistance with 6 months rego, which is about what I would've had to pay to get the Sydney one ACT registered anyway. One owner with full service history.

Going to pick it up tomorrow morning :)

Thanks for the advice guys.

I didn't know GT had upgraded stereo, interesting.
Also didn't know the seats were 10-way adjustable. I knew about the power passenger though.

That's a lot of adjusting :D

looks like it has a sunroof (http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/mitsubishi-380-2006-13440871?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=2&eapi=2&__N=1246+1247+1252+1282+4294964597+4294964376+897+ 1216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=default)

Yep, has a sunroof. Looks very tidy for the ks but still a bit overpriced. Is that the one you bought?

Leather & sunroof....... $10.5k minus gov charges, i dont see it being overpriced

Especially given that a dealer is always a little more than private sellers i think he done well.

I meant the advertised price of $15,471, not what he ended up paying for it. I agree he got it for a good price.

yeah guys I picked it up this morning. Leather and sunroof, the interior is in immaculate condition, a few small scratches on the paint but nothing you wouldn't expect from a 6 year old car. Paid $11,000 drive away, no idea why they had it listed at that price. Also had a 2008 S3 VRX at the same price so I think they just matched the listing to see how it went.

Much nicer to drive than the TL, thanks for the advice

Yeah sorry I'll try to get some pics up soon. Thoughts are very positive so far. Feels a lot better put together than the TL I was driving before it. Probably going to keep it fairly stock at the moment.
