Hi,
I have 96 TE manual, just done 250,000km and it gets a pretty sever shudder at speeds over 80km/h and gets worse when the brakes are applied, the shudder comes through the steering wheel (although it can be felt throughout the entire car). The shudder only comes after the car has been driven for awhile or driven quite hard (in other words when its warm) which makes me think it may be the brakes.
I just had both of the front tires replace, this morning, and the front brake pads and rotors where replaced not 10,000km ago, and none of this has helped to rectify the problem. I also am not sure if this is normal or not although after the brakes were done there seems to be a lot more brake dust on the drivers side than the other, could this be taken as an indication that they are wearing unevenly or even sticking?
Any help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is really starting to get on my nerves
Cheers

I have exactly the same problem except I hear a clunking sound when decelerating. A local mechanic found nothing wrong. (2000 TH Magna Executive auto)

Shudder:
At 250,000 km there will be wear on a number of components.

Could be wheel balance, out of round tyre, poor wheel alignment, worn steering or suspension components, cvs, diff, etc.
Needs eyeballing by someone who knows a bit about cars.

Usually the shudder is caused by a combination of components. Fixed mine by replacing tie rods and ball joints.

Are your tyres worn unevenly? If they are this could be a clue to the cause. Front wheel alignment is the first to check.

As mentioned previously at this ks you need to start replacing fair few components:

CV joints will cause shudder
Loose tie rod ends
Control arm bushings
Ball joints
