Hey everyone

I need some help, so my boot wont open from the button on my remote (TF manual v6 3.0L)
It works from my glove box, however wont work from my remote,

Adventure:
So i opened my boot and pressed the button on my remote:
1. No clicking noise
2. Checked the fuse (15amp) its fine (inside car)
3. Looked closely at the motor bit, ... it mves freely by hand.. like i turn the little latch thing, and i can see
quite clearly on my boot latch that its moving so I assume the cable is fine

could it just be my motor is gone ?

say i go to the wreckers and get one..
is there any way to test it ..
how much am i looking at ?

and the procedure (anything i should be careful of ?

Does it work with the key? Is the remote one of those that requires two presses for it to work?

Has it worked before that you know of?

Or do you need to hold the 3rd button down on the remote for a couple of seconds??

if the button in the glovebox works, it would not be the release solenoid because its the same mechanism ASFAIK. If the other buttons on your remote work, im guessing its either simply the contacts in the remote or the button/switch itself.

i have three remotes for mine.. on one, only the lock button works and no others.

do you have a second remote you can test? if you can, and the other remote works, take apart the remote and clean the contacts. or skip the test and just clean - its simple to do and youve got nothing to lose.

ps like milo said, you do need to hold it down for a few seconds.
also, i dont think the solenoid fires if the boot is already open - so opening the boot to test the remote probably wont work.

I want to clean my remote to see if it works, but it wont pry open, and i'm to sacred to break it ...

What type of remote is it. Is it the 3 button red green grey one or another type. Have you tried pressing twice instead of holding it Down?
