Nice Brendan, this site needs more Technical threads like this. after reading it i was left wondering?
what is the torque specification for the camshaft bearing/rocker bolts and the spec for the timing chain sprocket and waterpump pulley on the camshaft?
The rubber "half moon" in the front of the head is available as a replacement part, new ones shouldn't need sealant.

I wish someone would put up a complete list of torque specs for the astron II and the V6

P.S when ur working on cars/engines it's a good idea to wear shoes lol

Your a champ, a good guide. I like how things are explained, unlike my workshop manual, although good, sometimes it just doesnt give enough detail for a first timer like myself.

shoes... yeah my bad. yeah, the half moon probably shouldn't be put back on anyway. if it looks slightly worn, get a replacement. they are cheap as anyway and u can get them from supercheap.

you guys want torque specifications? i'll put them up as soon as i can. let me know wat is wrong with the camshaft writeup and ill fix it asap. i want it to b perfect for those first timers :D . point out EVERYTHING u can think of. it is abit vague in someparts, like the airbox assembly removal etc but i will need someone else to write that part for me cause my car dosen't have the stock airbox assembly haha.

Yeah!! That would be awesome, maybe if all the 1st Gen owners who have done modifications should write a simple tutorial?
