I currently have a Pioneer GM-6200F running my Factory splits and Alpine 6x9's in High pass. I have an opportunity to swap it for an Alpine MRV-F405 4 channel amp.
They are both old amp's but I feel the Alpine V12 would be a nicer amp for interior speakers.
Anyone had experience with this Alpine amp? My understanding is the Alpine V12's are a higher quality than the Pioneer standard range.
Cheers
To be honest you would probably find the speakers being upgraded giving a better sound before the amp. Especially if you have factory splits :P
The rears may gain some benefit of the amp but the fronts wont (unless they are part of a "premium audio" system)
As someone else said to me, you can't polish a turd! :P

Signal to noise is a lot better on the alpine, as is the distortion, it should sound a little cleaner, the power of the alpine drops a touch, but not worth worrying about, it will nett you a 1.5 Db loss if they were both tuned to the max, which is barely noticable...
If you can change it for free, I'd do it, but if it cost a $50.00 or more, I wouldnt bother, yes it's upgrade, but barely...
If I had to change the way it mounted, I wouldnt do it either... Out of those two, I'd pick the better looking one..

Good advise guys cheers :)
I was able to change it for free but I brought it back this morning after a late night of trial and error and 2 days of horrid engine noise. The Alpine seemed to pick up crazy engine noise no matter where I mounted it :( Both my Pioneer and Kicker amps don't get it as I was careful to do the install correctly to avoid engine noise etc.
I do have the Premium splits in my 380 and to be honest they are really capable and sound great. I wonder if the premium splits are a part of the Rockford Fosgate system the Ralliart Galant in the US received?
Does anyone know anything about the US Rockford Fosgate sound system?
If they are premium then there's no problems. I tend to find a lot of premium sound from manufacturers use quite good parts. The engine noise was probably due to the amp being grounded to the chassis elsewhere other than the main ground cable. Some amps have rubber feet which you can screw into which helps to keep the chassis isolated (kicker have these on most of their amps I believe). Anyway if you are happy with what you've got, then leave it be :) Don't fix what isn't broken!
