Hi All - Drive a manual 380 and very happy with vehicle.
However, twice in last month have ( nearly ) stalled.
Normally when a car stalls the engine goes dead and you re-start.
Yet on both occasions the engine seemd to be neither stalled or prepared to rev
For probably 90 seconds it just slowly splutters and ignores all my attempts to rev
It was heavy traffic and I had to put hazzard lights
Eventually comes good and away i go
Hard to describe........any thoughts ( car recently serviced, not low on petrol )
Not too concerned except am teaching my son to drive a manual and dont want him panicking!

The 380 can be sensitive to tired batteries and start to exhibit strange symptoms when the battery is on the way out, perhaps it is this. Do a search you should find plenty of information on this.

I drive a manual as well and on the odd occasion yes I have stalled and sometimes it gets stuck between idle and off. It's strange and not sure why. But I just turn the ignition of and back on again

Sounds like it is going into limp home mode, where it runs like a hairy goat and won't rev over 2,500 rpm.
Sometimes fixes itself after restarting, sometimes reoccurs, depends on what is causing the CEL.
Has happened to me a few times, always related to electrical system problems.
If it is you should be getting a CEL (Check Engine Light) but you didn't mention whether or not you are.
Maybe your CEL isn't working? (maybe because of a blown globe).
Best bet is to get an OBD11 reader and see what error codes are in memory, then go from there.

Feel free to drop in and I can plug into the MUTIII
I ahve had this issue in the past where the clutch switch was playing up, this caused a dead throttle until such a time as you shut down and restart the car

As I said not a big issue as happy with car - Just VERY curious
In meantime will attempt not to stall the engine!!!!

.
It's an LED on a 380 bit early for one of them to fail.

Going by the OPs symptoms I would have expected a CEL to show up. We know how fussy the 380 ECU is and how it throws a limp home mode and/or a CEL at the faintest hint of anything out of standard spec. And LEDs are known to fail occaisionally. Yes, I agree it's a bit early for an LED to fail, and no reported instances of early failure on a 380, I was just throwing it out there as a possible explanation.

A few of you have mentioned the CEL, however, I only recall the battery display coming on and maybe oil light??
It happened so quickly was trying to find the hazzard lights ( having not used them before!! )
Anyway thanks again for all your input
