I have a blown headgasket on my car, I will do the labour myself but i need the gaskets
so I went into the local Mitsu dealer and priced a VRS gasket kit, $200 trade,
I then priced the gaskets individually for a 2.6 magna, (all prices are trade and approximate) headgasket $55, inlet gasket $6.50, exhaust manifold $13, exhaust flange $4.50, rocker cover gasket $5.50, cam seal $6. total = $90.50 without the valve stem seals and thats for genuine gaskets. I have ordered everything except the head gasket, I found Genuine Mitsu astron II headgaskets on ebay for $16.50 + $9 delivery, I reckon that around $60 is pretty good for a VRS in genuine gaskets, I wouldn't get an aftermarket one for less than that around here.
Anyone know what the valve stem seals are worth?
I love locally built cars, there so damn cheap for parts.
e.g genuine filters for V6 commodores are $5.50 trade, Z154 Ryco and Repco are $7-12, why would u buy non genuine parts for a standard locally built car ???? :belt:
