Hey everyone talk about getting your attention
So weird thing happened with my horn.. i've noticed that last couple of days when i press on the steering the horn works... for a max of 10 secs at a time ... then stops ... doesn't work for a couple of days... then works again, for ten seconds or more or less... then stops ... now it has officially stopped .... :kb::ninja:
(yes i know its not legal to drive without a working horn)
any suggestions ... ?
what to do ?

Viagra????
Sounds like your trumpet is on the the way out...
Check the power with a Multimeter or test light, you can place a rod between the seat and the horn pad to get it up while you test it...
Good time to upgrade to a 380 horn set, or a ford ' fiaam AU' horn.
Hope you get it up - and running again soon, shouldn't take much before you start 'beeping' everbody again...

maybe the hornpad has come out of alignment?
happened to me once as i used to shove magnetic p plates in the gap so i would remember to put them on and it wouldnt make a sound/press down
or maybe its the whole hornpad
also the horm is located on the passengers side under the headlight

Yes just underneath your washer bottle.
Check the connections under the rubber covers that they are secure. Also check power with a multimeter. The third gen horn sucks anyway. Good excuse to upgrade to a 380 unit.

I just fitted a set of EL Falcon dual-tone horns. Pretty easy to install. The EL's have metal mounts that you just need to trim a little and you mount her behind the front grille or bump-her. In the falcons they're wired in using two single blue & black wires that connect into a plug from which 4 sets of wires connect to the horns.
Because I didn't want to annoy the neighbours, beating my trumpet off in the driveway, I used the wiring diagram to see what wire gives power to the horn. I found for the TJ's the green & black one does that. So I hooked up the blue wire from the Falcon EL horn wiring to the green & black horn wire and earthed the black wire off the falcon horns.
Works a charm. She screams now when you touch her horn.
Here's how "magna_vrx_turbo" has done it:
