Was wondering if this transplant is possible with the original gearbox, ECU and harness etc or if its a complicated swap. Can find cheap 6G72 motors around the place, but hard to find a good 6G74. Put a deposit on another Verada, but apparently the car made a "LOUD BANG" while she was driving from the engine bay. She will take $1000 off the price or give my deposit back.

There are plenty of '74 engines floating around. Putting in a '72 would be pointless, but is easily done.

As for the loud bang, I think this needs a bit more investigation. It could be something simple if we are given more information.

Yeah it was very random, but to be honest it had very loud lifters from the start. I mean very loud, like tapping easily audible in the cabin. I suspected too thin oil, or maybe a blocked sump filter, but then it was most likely going to need new lifters at some point. Do you think that it may have been related to the loud bang? Shitting out the bottom end I think can be thrown out as she drove the car another 20kms after it happened and she said the noise is pretty similar to before the "bang" noise happened.
