AMC,

so during today, being all great down in melbourne (for once) i opened the sunroof of my KF verada and it worked fine, however

once fully opened, there was a sound coming from what would seem to be the motor. It was still working while fully opened.

it does still close, open and pop up with no issues. but it does seem to be sounding a little loose when driving on a rougher patch of road.

so question is, where is the motor exactly located and what could be done to fix this issue?

The motor is located at the back of the roof. The headlining has to come out to access it. If you haven't used it in ages and ages, maybe it needs lubricant. Lithium grease is the go.

Also, in my car, I had to tighten the bolts securing the roof assembly as over the years they had become a fraction loose and this made the roof assembly make noise over bumps. Naturally, the bolts fight gravity as well as jolting from driving. Over a decade it can add up.

I had the same issue on my KH. Take out your roof lining and put lithium grease on and tighten the bolts back up like said above^ ;)
