you sure can do it. it's not hard, but it is TIME CONSUMING!
u need electric fuel pump outta the fuel tank, the ecu and wiring loom, exhaust and intake manifolds and a few other bits n pieces. let me know if u want to know more and ill get u all the info i have. i just can't b bothered finding it right now :D

You would also probably need a gas mixer to suit an efi intake duct, see the wreckers for a 2nd hand one off a VL or a magna, get a gas workshop to fit it, if u do swap to EFI and do everything yourself get ur car going on petrol but don't reassemble the LPG system, leave that to the pros! :flame:
EFI and LPG tends to run better on both fuels than carby and LPG setups because there is less restriction in the inlet (the carb restricts flow on LPG and the mixer restricts flow on petrol).
LPG Mixers for EFI applications are often just a small nozzle in a body which give very little restriction on petrol, instead of a diaphram in the intake opperated by inlet vacuum acting like a choke.

carb -> efi = not worth it! :slap:
I have gone through the complete logistics of this type of upgrade. It is so complicated and expensive, that it would save you time, money, trouble just to get an efi model instead.
I have most of the gear here to do it to mine. But it ain't gonna happen! :disgusted

i was quoted $550 for EVERYTHING you need to do it. $550 won't get u a decent running efi 1st gen mate.
it's pretty damn easy to do. just swapping the manifolds. wire in the ECU, and you can use the existing wiring loom for this. there is already a spot for the ECU to go. the hardest part is doing the fuel pump in the fuel tank. the rest is piss easy.

and the cam and associated bits.
and the cam and associated bits.
No, the short engine is identical between carby and EFI. The intake plenum, and exhaust differ.
