I am looking at getting a K&N pod filter for my TJ magna sports advance! But I been told its illegal without a engineering license! is a panel filter much different which is better performance wise?

I'm tempted to just get the pod filter as the chances of my car getting inspected are minimal anyway!

NSW RTA: open air filters not permitted. With Engineers Signature? Dunno....
If you use K&N panel with proper CAI, it would be sufficient until you mod the engine seriously.

Do you know that there is a SEARCH Feature in this forum?

This is like the second time in a month that this issue has come up and prolly like 10 in the last year....

Get a pod, in fact get RPW's K+N kit with pod, you wont regret it. I have it and wouldnt change it for anything.

Your bank account may regret it though

So for about the 100th time

You can have a non oiled pod filter without breaking any laws, as the laws for filters are mainly set down by the EPA

You may only have an oiled filter, be it pod or panel if it is in a sealed box, ie std air box with a panel filter
