Ok I am hating my car right now.

Anyway, I have an issue with my power steering. When I am stationary I can not turn my wheel, but as soon as the wheels start rolling there is no problem. (Also makes a squeeling sound) Also on full lock there is a squeal.

I have checked my fluid level and is still full. Checked the power steering belt (smaller belt at the rear of the alt belt) and looks a little frayed on the edges.

Would this most likely be the belt as the issue or something more like the pump? I was thinking if the belt it frayed, maybe lose and slipping when the wheels are harder to turn when stationary and full lock. Any thoughts?

Perhaps check the voltage of the battery and the condition of the alternator/belt, as you may know when the car dies the power steering doesn't work, im not saying this is whats happening but you can probably understand why its a good idea to check.

With that said if the Rev's are sitting alright while idling then you shouldn't have any issues.

I'm laying my bets on power steering pump.

Loose drive belt to the P Steering pump. A mongrel to tighten, but doable. Maybe it is time to renew the belt?

Thats not what I wanted to hear Dreggzy lol. You were right about my other problems so no doubting you'll be on the money again this time.

I was hoping it would have just been the belt.

The belt looks like it needs replacing anyway so i'll buy one of them and may have to take it to a mechanic i guess to see what they think.

Looks like i may be making some calls to some wreckers for a new pump.

Just to give you a quick update. Issue resolved. It was my power steering belt. Half of it was missing.... So thats all fixed. Thought i'd change the drive belt while i was under the car so all's good again for the Verada :)
