Have search this site concerning misfires and found lots of helpful advice and have tried some of the remedies, but problem still there, im sort of on a budget so i was trying to avoid going to a mech , whats happening is , car starts fine, idling smooth then within 15 sec starts misfiring , i can free rev it as far as i want and no misfire but if i put it under any load , off she goes, ive had the plenum off and changed the rear rocker cover and plugs and also had the dizzy cap off and cleaned the terminals as well( thinking the problem may lie there) anyway , i noticed the misfire after this so i brought new leads and removed the plenum again and replaced all leads, problem unchanged, last nite pulled out the dizzy gave it a good blow out incase there was any moisture in there as i have washed the engine a few times in the last week(before i changedout the plug and leads) so nothing has changed, misfire still there, i am thinking i might have to get a new dizzy cap and rotor button but am being a bit of a tight arse, any ideas anyone
It could be the coil in the dizzy. could just get a whole dizzy from the wreckers and replace the whole lot and see what happens.

Managed to get a hold of a complete distributor from a TW but sadly the problem is still there, im thinking now , it has to be a faulty spark plug unless someone has any other ideas

Leads also, inspect for whiteness around them where leakage has occurred.

How is the idle - stable?

Yeah fairly stable, you can start it up and its smooth then after 15-20 sec you can feel the miss start very lightly off and on and i can rev it up and down whilst pushing the pedal down slowly and have no misfire but if i jump on it you can hear and feel the miss, same with driving you can be everso light on the pedal and its ok to a degree, but as soon as there is any load on it back it comes

Sounds like a leaky intake or exhaust valve or defective fuel injector.
Start with a compression test.

Before i took the manifold off and changed the rockercover gasket ,plugs and leads it was fine

go back over your work, and check everything again, could be a tube seal not sealing, check for oil in the spark plug tubes. if it was all fine before you did the work, (im sure i dont need to tell you the rest :P ). how ever, something could have coincidentally gone wrong at the same time, comepletely unrelated.

just changed the front three plugs "SHAZZAM" no misfire, they were brand new bosch platinums, i put the NGK IX in the front , maybe i should pull the manifold off again and pi*% the other Fu#%ers off as well, i remember reading somewhere on the forum about not using those plugs, they cost me $60 as well and i threw the docket away :eek2:
Thanks for those who gave some input

I haven't used Bosch plugs in my 380 since the 45k service, even though they are the stock/recommended brand. Swapped them out for NGKs and never had a problem since.

Yeah , i have the NGK's in my TMR as well, they call them Irriway 7's, when i upgraded my supercharger i got them put in, i paid something like $22.95 each at supercheap only because i needed them asap otherwise fleabay would've been cheaper

Accept nothing but NGK. They are hands down the best plugs out there.

Bosch used to be good. But then so were Champions . . . . best avoided I think. NGK are better.

Talking about champions, my TL AWD had champions in the rear bank and looked like noah used them in the ark, i had to use a bar on my plug tool to get them out, thought i was gunna snap them off but hey, they were working better than the new bosch in the front bank, i give them that
