Hi All - I am about to upgrade and my suspension and am looking at Koni Sports all round and lovells springs. Any thoughts on the Koni's and has anyone had them fitted?? Cheers, Ben

Koni is top of the range. If the budget stretches that far, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

I am a Koni dealer and have fitted these to many Magna's over the years, everyone I have fitted them for love them, had them in my wagon, about to put a set in my Galant. Morsolo has them in his Verada, vrx_my02 has them in his VRX sedan just to name a couple.
I use Dobinsons springs, find the Lovell too stiff for road use personally
As for budget, you are looking at around $1100 for a set of Koni with Dobinsons

+1 on this. I have seen and driven cars riding on Kido coilovers and they are excellent. Fantastic for road use and even better on the track.

Geez that is pretty cheap. I have been quoted $1800 supplied and fitted for the Koni's so far.
Any idea on what the Kido Coilovers are worth?

There might be one more group buy before the year is out but i think you are looking around the $900 mark. they are widely used in bmw, vw, opel forums also. your best bet is to contact Sufz.. aka Gone on here..

So is there a certain Koni shock to get to suit lowered cars?? I got a quote at Fulcrum suspension for Monroe and koni , the Koni rears were $20 cheaper than monroe but the front were a fair bit more, not sure what type they were though

The only reason I would consider buying Kido coils is the option to raise and lower my car. The other thing to think about with coils is the continual cost of getting them rebuilt. Iso far haven't seen anything on here for the lifespan of them yet.
Konis on the other hand I would much prefer for a daily car. I believe they have more play being able to soften them up a bit. I have driven in cars with both setups and like I said, konis are a lot less harsh on the backside

which would be a harsher setup between these? And performance wise is there much difference?
Koni/king springs
Koni/dobinsons
Koni/lovells

Lovells and Kings are quite stiff, where as Dobinsons are a little more forgiving.
In comparison.. Coilovers allow you to adjust the dampener level, very similarly to the Koni Adjustables.
If you're after a strut combo - They're great buying..
If you want that race car feel with plenty of adjustability - Coilovers are also a great option..

As a very rough rule of thumb, the harsher the spring, the better the performance.
It also depends heavily on what model springs you buy. King Superlows have a reputation for poor ride and handling, but the Lows and Low SPs are pretty good.

While I haven't used them, I assume based on record and opinions plus just the nature of the product that Konis would be the optimal bet for comfort at the expense of performance where the Kidos will be superior. While more expensive than Kidos, you won't be paying periodically (Nobody has had Kidos need a rebuild yet but it would be safe to assume they could die anywhere from maybe like 30-50,000kms) for rebuilds with the Konis so they will end up being cheaper over time. Other than that, I own Kidos so my review is this. The Kidos are surprisingly comfortable for a coilover, I run them on my daily GTV and they are flawless. I'm very low (http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/473421_4618564345898_2014239132_o.jpg) and get a really great ride on them, I pretty much never bottom out or scrub, the only reason I haven't set lower is I start scraping my front bar on everything, the coilovers still have tons of travel left. Comfort wise, most passengers cannot tell the difference versus standard, nobody has ever said the ride is harsh or anything of that sort other than "Wow it corners so well for a big sedan!" - one of my housemates commented it was slightly bumpier than usual when I was going over a really poorly surfaced railway crossing.
The roads I drive on daily have plenty of shitty dips and potholes and occasionally I hit a few and while obviously it is harder than stock, it still isn't really uncomfortable. On even half decent roads it is exceptional. Highly satisfied customer here.
There are some on this forum who don't hold them in high regard based on the poor track record of previous "fads", however they have also never actually tested this product. Kidos cop flak for being quite affordable for coilovers, but they are not unpopular and we are probably one of the lowest value car clubs using them. I have seen positive reviews on them from Subaru, BMW, Mazda, Porsche etc. car clubs as well. This is not a shoddy small scale product. But they are not tried and tested for our cars yet.

tl;dr
-If you want to raise/lower your height get kidos... even though youll find you wont be changing it that much and they will end up at a height similar to super lows
-If you want a reliable and VERY good performing shock get konis from Mal or a local dealer. Full stop.
Lets not have another four pages of bullshit lads.
