Aye. As the title says Im getting my VRX registered for VIC, its previously a NSW car but rego ran out back in feb. Just want to see if you guys have any thing I should know ahead of time for going through withn this so I dont waste my cash getting rejected.
Quick run down on the car. 2000 VRX manual. mods include 19" w/ good tread. PBR C5 calipers and discs (fronts only). exhaust pipe is mostly stock besides the rear muffler and a mid-way hotdog. Lowered suspension but its not ridiculous, easily drive over speed humps. Engine is stock.
Will any of these cause me issues with a RWC garage? Anything else I should fix up before submitting.

Give it a wash and polish, pump up the tyres. Clean off oil leaks. Makes for a good impression. Look confident.
You are a better judge of the car than the rest of us (seeing we can't actually eyeball it) and the roadworthy is a good opportunity to find out what needs doing, if anything.
We don't have those inspections in SA. Just as well . . . . . but then again, it would get some death traps off the road. (Not Magnas I hope)

May be advisable to get some stock rims and put on it cos they might look at height due to the bigger wheels ?

Download this:
http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/7A14DDDC-3DF3-4ADD-9821-B8C7816777A3/0/VSI26web.pdf
And use it to inspect your car. As long as you meet the standards set in the guidelines in that .pdf, you should pass.

shop around price's range from $220 down to $140 . check how long you have to fix any faults most are 7 days some will give you a list and longer time for repiars. might help if you give an idea of which part off vic you will getting the rwc done
I'd suggest just ask around about good mechanics. Most mechanics I've gone to have given different lists for the same car/s.

Going by the VSI 8 and Vic roads the only thing that will give me problems are the rims... "diameter cannot be more than 15mm greater than the largest tyre suggested for that vehicle". 2000 VRX, stock comes with 16's... currently running 19's with 245/35's. Mate has directed me to a mechanic in Dandenong that apparently is a good sort for the modified persuasion.

Welcome to Vic mate! ...and back to the forums. Haven't seen a post from you in ages!
You seem to have wrongly understood the regulations regarding wheel & tyre modifications. The rules are regarding DIAMETER of the Wheel AND tyre TOGETHER, not the size of the wheel itself. According to victorian modification rules, you are only allowed to increase/decrease the ROLLING DIAMETER by 15mm from the LARGEST (or smallest) wheel and tyre (rolling diameter) combo fitted to the model of car. In the case of the Magna's the combo that had the largest rolling diameter, was the MY02 & TJS2 VRX's that came with 225/50/R17 tyres.
To illustrate, the rolling diameter of the MY02 and Series 2 VRX's were ~659mm. (225/50/R17 = width of the tyre is 225mm, the height of the sidewall is 50% of the width @ 225mm, and the tyre is a radial tyre (R) with 17" wheel on the inside.
You can basically fit any diameter wheels, provided that together with the tyre, the rolling diameter does not increase to more than 675mm or decrease to less than 644mm. This is often why you see 20" wheels with tyres that look like rubberbands.
If you have 19" wheels with 245/35 then your rolling diameter is 654mm.
100% legal and allowed as it is only 5mm less than the 225/50/R17's tyres fitted to the magna's. They are even legal compared to your original 215/60/R16 tyres which has a rolling diameter of 664mm.
The issue I beleive you'll actually have with 19's is the load rating. Not sure what tyres you have but most of them are under the magna's load rating is 94. If they are 94 then they're usually very expensive as they need to be imported or are some cheap no-name's.
In reality, having a lower load rating this isn't a problem as the 380's have lower tyre load ratings and have more weight than the magna's, but when it comes to legalities you need make sure the tyre does have 94 load rating.
Now if this persuasive and potentially blind RWC tester looks over this then you're fine (from a safety perspective, not a legal one) but if he does get stuck into it then might just want to fit your standard 16's for the RWC. Legally I should recommend you to not fit the 19's again but you'd probably be fine if you did. That being said, a vic member a number of years ago did get defected for having too low load rating tyres.

It's exactly the same rule in NSW and QLD. 15mm is your overall diameter, NOT the size of your wheels.

I hope the wheels don't give you too much trouble :(

Add to this it is the largest available as any option on that vehicle range, the largest that came out were 17's on VRX, GTV etc etc, have had this arguement with Vic Roads a few times and won every time
