Hi all,

Does anyone have a PDF version of the factory Bluetooth users manual? I have the installation manual, but would like to know how to use the thing once its installed!

Cheers,

Nick

Basically, you press and hold the 2 buttons, it will clear the memory, then you pair the device with the code 1234.

Job done.

ok. what about calls and stuff? can you dial out using the bluetooth, or do you need to use the phone?

This depends on your phone rather than the system.

With my iPhone, the BT system controls Siri. So it can do whatever Siri can do. But the microphone etc, means if you phone is capable of voice dialling via BT, then you can.

To activate that, I just press the call button and the phone will prompt me.

Call and hang up are obvioulsy the call and hang up buttons.

Awesome, got Em thanks!

Now. I've put the unit in, all pairs fine, the mic works fine, the buttons work fine. The only issue image is that there is nothing coming through any of the speakers.. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Phone should come from LH front

Listen to radio and use fader /balance to make sure that speaker is working in normal radio mode

Try increasing the volume on your phone during a connected to Bluetooth call.

I have done both of the above. It doesn't mute the radio either. Fading to front left is fine, and Bluetooth volume is full. I have an aftermarket avn6000 in the car, but also tried with the h/u unplugged with no luck. I thought I'd check here before making any drastic changes. Thought I would try befitting the factory h/u and see if that fixes it. The Bluetooth also has the patch cable.

Well. I plugged in the factory unit and the Bluetooth worked. It tells me one of two things. Either the Bluetooth only works when both the remote loom is plugged in, maybe the remote loom has the speaker wire in it?, or my head unit is not compatible. Someone told me that the system would work with an aftermarket radio, so can anyone shed light in either direction based on this info?

Maybe try www.strike.com.au

They are agents/importers of system

I might just put the old player back in and workout some magical system for the iPod, etc.

Oh dear, who told you the unit would work with an aftermarket head unit? I'm pretty sure they will only work with the factory setup.

I was a little worried for a second there. As this one has the volume mod you don't need to worry about the volume on your phone, just use your head unit.

The patch cable is your problem with an avn 6000.

It sends the audio back to the head unit for amplification rather than straight to the speaker, which the AVN won't do with the volume patch cable.

Remove the volume patch cable and it should be apples with the AVN .... That's if you can hear the calls and don't have a phone with the dreaded low volume issues!

So the BT kit can function with some aftermarket head units? Do they support the factory plugs?

S is it just a plug and play thing, or is it more intricately installed than that?

Patch cable gone, works a treat! It doesn't mute all of the speakers, but I guess that's a sacrifice I need to make to have a good sound system! :). I thought about splicing the mute wire from the BT to all of the speaker wires...?

I figured you were using this with the stock head unit. Doesn't the AVN6000 come with BT?

ClassicWalkie

Nope. It may have had some form of optional extra, like the iPod, but no BT with the unit itself

Ok, fair enough. My new head unit came with BT, which is why I didn't need mine anymore.
