May sound like a silly question, but I bought my car with the current springs and am not sure what type they're. There's no colour on them (or there isn't anymore) from the quick look I had before so it could be anything, but the E.B.H. (Eye brow height) is roughly 350-360mm front and rear. I'm not sure what the standard VR-X ebh is so dunno what they're.

So does anybody know from the ebh what type they're? And (if it's possible from that) if someone knows what brand they're?

Eyebrow height alone won't help.

Give the springs a clean and see what colour they are. When clean you should see a product number on them too.

A long time ago I came across a reference (which I can no longer find :() to a stock TJ Executive (with 15" wheels) having nominal eyebrow heights of 428mm at the front and 395mm at the rear. Any variant fitted with 16" or 17" wheels from factory had 10mm less eyebrow height at both front and rear., i.e. 418mm front, 385mm rear. Keep in mind that these numbers don't take into account variation from one set of springs to the next, sag due to age or fitting various accessories that add noticeable weight (such as towbars or gas systems) etc.

Unfortunately you can also get Dobinson and Lovell springs around a similar height, and you can also get stock springs compressed. So eyebrow height alone wouldn't be sufficient to identify the exact spring installed :(

Also, AWDs will have a different eyebrow height to the FWD models, as their extra weight means they sit a little lower.

Talking to King springs today the king low sp will drop the front of a AWD to 360 mm and the rear 350-360 mm, so going by that the AWD drops 10 mm more than the FWD Does that sound right??

I had a look today, took the tyre off, quickly cleaned a bit of the spring and instantly saw red so I'm guessing its on pedders springs? I mean I havnt had much experience with lowered springs before (as in tried other types) but from what I've read, they ain't too flash.

After I get all my engine and brakes done, I'll Defs be after koni and some form of spring. (As coilovers do not interest me. as I like a stiff ride but driving/riding in my boss's skyline which has coils, is not pleasant at all! And I don't fancy having to rebuild them IF they happen to screw up somehow) Question is,

Not being familiar with pedders springs, does anyone know what drop they're meant to give? Cause ideally I'd like something of a similar height.

When you are in next we can measure them for you mate, if the generic Pedders they will be 45mm drop which about average, well when they are new and have not sagged yet lol
