Hey guys,

I done a search and read a couple of threads but I have another question that I need to ask.

The fuel gauge does not work (stays on empty) BUT, the distance to empty still works.

Will it still be a problem with the fuel sender, or is there a different problem?

Does the distance to empty work off the fuel sender? It can't work off the gauge or else it would be on 0km to empty.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,
Ben

Been covered before, but I believe the two systems are totally separate.

Try swapping out the centre computer (assuming your one has one, if it doesn't then ignore this post). I found in my TH when I put a Verada trip computer in (wanted a clock, bah) the fuel gauge stopped working. I couldnt figure it out, I changed my ways to use the fuel consumed option.

I'm not sure, I would have to have a look. It isn't my car, just a guy who lives up the road from me, he asked me to service his car and I noticed that the fuel gauge wasn't working. If it was an easy fix I was going to fix it for him.

So do you think it would be the fuel sender in the tank still? If so, I will let him know and see if he wants me to replace it or not.

The range calc estimation works from the fuel sender. When the fuel light come on it goes to -------- . If you pull the fuel sender out and play around with it, it may work again and should change the range. If not it could be shot.
