G'day guys,

It's time for a new set of tyres. been looking at some and these so far (after 8 different places) ive been quoted. Just wondering if anyone has any suggested places to ask? (location doesnt really matter as long as its in melbourne)

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT - $260
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT - $210 (but ive read these have terrible wear)
Khumo KU39 - $220
Eagle F1 Asyemmeteric 2 - $275 (i lol'd when one guy quoted $360 :D)

Thanks in advance

yeah thats what im thinkn having read reviews..

i dont mind paying 275 cause i know its an awesome tyre, just wondering if anyone either has gotten those particular ones cheaper for an 235/40/18 tyre or knows of anywhere..

It's much cheaper to buy them from overseas providing the shipping isn't too expensive and you're not opposed to the idea.
eg, Bridgestone RE-11 are $280ea, Eagle F1A2 are $170ea and KU31 are $150ea from tirerack.

Failing that, look at some prices in NSW to compare, see if the price difference is worth the courier.

It's much less costly to buy them from offshore offering the delivery isn't too costly and you're not compared to the concept.
eg, Bridgestone RE-11 are $275ea, Large eagle F1A2 are $1650ea and KU31 are $140ea from tirerack.

Got a shipping quote from tire rack, 351 bucks shipping...so works out to roughly 260 bucks a tyre. Probably just easier to get it done here

FYI (if anyone is interested) the quoted price for those eagle F1's is the Goodyear on Keilor road, Niddrie

You also have to factor in fitting and balancing locally, and the fact that buying local means you (should) have a local warranty.

The Goodyears locally seem to be the way to go.

Yeah exactly right, I'm not sure how much fitment and balancing would cost, but even if it all worked out cheaper, I mass ceebs when I can pay a little extra hand the car over and get it back with the new tyres.

So local option it is!

I would estimate $15-20 per tyre.
