Hi all, I'm replacing the timing chains in my TS and I was wondering whats easier, take the motor out and do the job or try and do it with the motor in and take the skin off your knuckles and do lots of swearing? cheers

Let you know later doing mine next month and removing balance shafts with engine in place..........
Not been done people say but nobody has cut off the balance shafts as you go to get them out so going to try something different!!
Could be interesting. Vee

Good luck with the work on your car Vee, my TS has me confused it has the start up rattle but the engine is quiet after say after a 5 minute drive, no timing chain rattle at idle, but drive it for about 15 minutes and it has the rattle bad at idle, heres a video of it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY9xQoQ2Lcc
