Tried some searches but no luck.
Here's the story.
My driver's side front window is badly sand scratched on the outside, so I ordered a new window over Fleabay. Good price, brand new, free postage, what's not to like?
It rocked up today, but one of the two mounting clips was busted, the lower bit with the screw hole in it had been snapped off, obviously due to some gorilla throwing the package around during transit.
These clips are glued on really really hard, but I managed to get the remains of the busted clip off. But I had to destroy it in the process, with a hacksaw etc.
Rang the local stealership and they reckon these clips don't come separate to the glass, they are part of the glass. Fair enough seeing as they are glued on super tight.
So Plan B is to use one of my 'old' clips to replace it with.
But how do I get the old clip off without damaging it? I tried to get the busted clip off the new window with fishing line after heating it up a fair bit with a hair dryer, but no go, the glue is too tough.
Any ideas?
