I have a 2003 Eclipse (manual transmission with about 114k miles) and I just noticed that it is having problems shifting from 1st gear to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Everytime I shift it has a jiggle motion and it revs high then back down. But it has a real hard time shifting and it will not drive smooth it always seems like its pushing itself. What may the problem be?

When was the transmission last serviced? Change the oil, Is it grinding between shifting? Is clutch harder? Clutch may need replacing, but first thing is probably to bleed the clutch .

May get better response if u post this in the 3rd gen forum?

Full flush with genuine fluid and a transmission cooler.

Are you sure you are talking about a MANUAL tranny - your symptoms sound more like those of an AUTO??
