Im getting some annoying brake squeal in the AWD at low speed. Brakes work well.
Had the pads and rotors checked and theres plenty of room on both.

The pads would be as old as the car i guess, so 2004 with 40,000 k's. Is there any simple fix, or should i just live with it?

Chamfer the pads and put anti squeal paste on the pad backings where they sit in the caliper cradle against the caliper piston.

Top notch advice. Most likely just the shims just squealing.

The best product you want to use is called "CRC Brake stop". It's red and in a squeeze style bottle. Paid around $16 for it at Burson. Heaps better than the blue gel crap I bought from Supershit Auto. It's very sticky and did a great job of getting rid of my brake squeals.
I would also recommend cleaning the shims, brake calipers and the back of the brake pad with some brake cleaner using a rag and a wire brush (if necessary).

For a more permanent solution - for most cars you can also get slip on rubber covers as well, but I'm not sure they make that for the magna's.

Cool, thanks. So i guess that the paste negates the vibration, but cant interfere with the caliper operation?

LOL lol no way!

The only potential danger is putting the paste on the wrong side of the pad (stupid noob mistake and it'll wear off after one application of the brakes) and if you use the wrong paste then it could ruin the caliper piston seals, depending on how much of the paste contacts the piston. You can just put the paste between the shim and the brake pad and that way none touches the piston, but any brake squeal paste would not do this whatsoever.

Haven't had a chance to do anything about this yet, but today I noticed the steering wheel wobbles a little when braking lightly. Possibly the rotors need a machine. If I do that should I replace the pads at the same time?

You can either remove the rotors and take them to get machined so yes that would be the best time to do the pads aswell, otherwise a shop will machine the rotors while they are on the car but you might aswell let them do the pads while their are at it.
