hey all. is there anyone someone could suggest to get the fault codes read?
mitsubishi want just shy over $150 to do the job..

anyone else anyone could suggest? im located eastern melbourne.

so a run down on whats happening. went on a trip from melbourne to mount gambier (sa). all was good
went to start it the morning after and kept stalling on petrol in gear, after warmup.(starts instantly after stalling out)
when cold it runs near perfect. second its out of closed loop the fun and games start
it idles rough on lpg aswell but it only by just catches itself to keep running.

its blowing a excessive amount of fuel smoke on both also.

tried swapping the maf out for a known good one. and was cleaned also.
isc is a known working clean one as i fitted it only a couple of months ago
leads were replaced back in march (done 25 thou on them)
plugs have been done as i fitted iridiums front and back (done same time as leads)
a replacement distributor was fitted 2 months back also as i found a new one by luck on a wreck.

tried bridging the obd2 port to get it to show me the codes using the engine light.
no joy as its thinking everything is okay
it would run fine after unplugging something. then work it out shortly after and go back to where it was. plug it back in.. same process

when unplugging the maf it ran worse and richer. same for the oxy sensor too
heaterbox isnt leaking. as im not loosing coolant either
ecu doesnt appear to have been wet
oh and the best part.. fuel economy is rather horrid
50k's sedate town or highway is a 1\4 tank on petrol
270k's to 3\4 a tank of lpg (65 litres useable).. keep in mind, last trip i got nearly 600k's to a tank

so if anyone has any pointers.. and sorry for the essay

oh and the car is..
a 96 Te magna
3 litre v6 auto (auto was serviced 2 thousand k's ago)
with 345000k's on the odo

If there are no codes being stored, a scan will not fix either, I charge $65 to plug in and give you a list of any codes there (if any)

Smoke, bad running etc makes me think an injector is stuck open, is common on any LPG car as often the injectors sit for weeks and or months with no use as does fuel etc

ah ok.. will have to work out a few things before i give you a buzz to have a closer look?

i run the te weekly on petrol if not daily on warmup.
and if that was the case of a leaking injector the fuel guage would of been dropping too on the trip back to my parents as i was running on lpg?

if anything it sounded like a misfire before stalling. it's only stalling on petrol though. and i make a habit of doing local driving on petrol. and the work commute on lpg

fuel isnt stale either as it was put in maybe 2 weeks ago? as i run it down often as i have been caught in the past not running fuel through often enough. (previous magna)
i typically use 95 ron upwards either from caltex, shell or the rare occasion 7-11
oh and i don't use the ethanol fuel either
