Hey guys got a 2nd set of remote and keys.

Went to program them and wasn't working, turns out apart from the open boot button, the open n close buttons r glued down so don't work, I thought what the hell I can open and shut the car with the key nways (as they're a spare set won't be used much) so did the program and on the spare set pushed the boot button and indicators went off as if to program.

Now the spare key still does not start the car, the immobiliser kicks in and shuts it off?

And the keys I use everyday, the open button works, but the close button now just makes the car do that tooting noise as if a door is open (which obviously isn't) and doesn't shut it.

I can open and close the car with both keys though?

Any ideas on how
1. I can get the remote I already have to both open and close the car again
2. Get the 2nd key to start the car

Is it best just to take it to Mitsubishi and let thm sort it all out?

When you program a remote dont you need to push all 3 buttons on a TJ Remote..?

Re the remote, open your boot and close it again. I find if mine doesn't lock and toots at me, thats normally the culprit.

Funny, that!
Trying to program a remote while another is nearby, doesn't seem to work.
I've had to move a remote (already coded for a TL) well away from the car (a TJ) before I could code a remote with a new battery in it, for the TJ.
Chances are, your broken remote is sending out a constant signal. Remove the battery, and try coding the good one again.

Also, if you have multiple remotes, just coding in one will disable the second, both need to be done together.

Do: (Assuming you have 2 good remotes)
Ignition from acc to on, back to acc - 3 times within 5 seconds. Stop at on.
Indicators should flash.
Press a button on the first remote. Indicators flash.
Press a button on the second remote. Indicators flash.
Both are now coded.

The key that won't keep the car running though, is a separate problem. Either it is not coded to the immobiliser, or the chip is not being read by the immobiliser aerial.
Mitsu dealer needs to sort that one.

Yeah did that exact programming steps but not sure if it worked cause the open n close buttons on the spare remote r stuck...might just go to mits and get another one...

And will ask at mits as well about the key

Keys can be programmed here also, you need the ECU code and MUTTII to do this so not many places can do this
