Easy :) You need a relay.
http://www.thetoolboxshop.com/ekmps/shops/adrcomponents/images/0-727-62-durite-12v-30a-mini-make-and-break-relay-[2]-2154-p.jpg
The negative trigger wire from the old horn get connect to the 86 terminal and the positive wire from the old horn then get connected to 85 and 30. The 380 horn gets bolted to the car chassis and the positive horn lug on the 380 horn gets connected to 87 of the relay.
Note: Second gen has two wire to there horn once a constant 12v postitive wire and a switch negative wire that control by the horn switch.

Silly question but is the old relay stuffed as no point adding another if it is still ok.
Might be best to check if there is power coming down the line to the old horn first......if it is then just need to put different connectors on the end probably to connect to the later model horn.
My horn was stuffed at last rego check we put one on from a hyundai just lopped off the old Mitsi connectors and put on a couple to plug into the Hyundai horn.......sweet as. Vee

He want to install a new 380 horn which is positive switch and the second gen/ thrid gen are negative switch :) Relay switch around the negative/ positive switching :P Plus if it a bog standard TS it most likely wont have a relay :)

Ok getya about the 380 difference looked at mine it has relay and looked thru the workshop manual and all Tr-Ts have a relay. So will make the job a bit easier........well supposed to have relay unless someone has butchered it. Vee

Connect a 380 horn to your car it will sound all the time no matter if you hit the horn switch. Read my post. You need the relay. The relay not doing what your thinking it doing.
I'm over this subject. Looks like trial and error going to be your method have fun :)

You can utisilise the relay already in place if you know what you need to do...................

I am reading your post and cant believe what I'm reading lol Unsure why you want to go the long way about things and rewire a relay box to make the horn work. The bloody relay I said is needed to switch the way it triggered. I'm unsure why I posting now as since it you have all the ideas please by all means install a 380 horn into your TS and please tell how you did it. As I done this mod to my car, my TR like most of them don't have a horn relay. Which is a mute point as the relay there to swap the way the horn is trigger. Sigh I know how mals feels.
Stuff it.
Mate I'm a sparky by trade I done this mod to my car and sounds like you got no electrical experience.

Job done.
Today was out at the wreckers and needed some parts for the hyundai and picked up a 380 horn so i can put back the horn i took off the hyundai a couple of weeks back for rego check. As we all know without use the horns diaphragm sticks with age.
380 horn is like alot of motorcycle horns and old school early cars where it earths thru the body of the horn to car and thus only one wire setup.
So easy job just disconnected the old horn and connected a test light to each wire to identify which lit up when i pushed the horn pad to identify which wire the power comes down then spliced it to the 380 wire and connector i got with it and then bolted to the body of the car to get a good earth.
Just to make doubly sure of a good earth connected the cars original earth wire for the old horn to the body under the bolt that holds the horn to the car with use of a round harness connector and soldered. Sounds alot better than the tinny Hyundai horn thats for sure!!! Vee

Ah ha just found out from previous owner why mine is differently wired. Sparky the last owner had it from new and is a mate. Says he got Mitsubishi to put air horns on it from new so they may have rejigged the wiring to becoming positive switch.........No obvious changes under the bonnet and the air horns are long gone wiring looks all stock so they must have done something up under the dash which is where the relay is located.
Chubb easiest thing for you to do will be to solder a connector to the rear of the horn or put one under the centre screw the horn mounts to its holder with. Then connect this wire to the earth to the old horn. Important bit is to then mount the horn to a non metal part of the car probably to part of the front plastic bumper on the inside........or you have to change the relay switching like sparky mentions above.
Next time i pull the dash on the car will see what they have done in there. Vee

They would put a relay in or rewired the fuse box :)
