G'day All,

Few things I'm discovering about the car as I go along, which will be fixed in order of how annoying they are, and how expensive they are.

The two I'm worried about most at the moment are:

Noise in the power steering, only when turning right at slow speeds - can hear the pump sounding like it's under pressure (like when at full lock), but not when it's at full lock. If that makes sense.

The other one I discovered on the weekend, where my power steering can cancel itself without the stalk moving, when I hit a bump (at around 100kph, in between Melbs & Philip Island to give you an idea of the severity of the roads).

Obviously, I just resume the Cruise control - problem solvered - PI is only a small trip. But between Melb & Adeltrout there are some more severe bumps, as well as a longer drive - my patience is limited these days it seems.

Any ideas?

With the first one, check the power steering fluid levels.

The second one could be the cruise control switch under the brake or clutch pedal. Depressing either of the pedals cancels cruise control operation normally. If the switch is faulty, it could be deactivating the cruise under situations where those pedals arent being touched, i.e hitting a bump in the road
