I know they can go under the front seats, but does anyone else have any creative ways?

Must keep full functionality of the boot.

Ideas?

On the rear of the back seats, or if you have a cargo barrier mount a MDF plate to that and attach the amps to that. make a false floor and mount them under the false floor, many, many possibilities.

Can only do false floor if amps can be covered at all times, not sure how that'd got for heat.

Can't do back of seats as we use those when we go to the drivein (that was probably an important piece of info lol).
MDF to cargo barrier isn't a bad idea, I'd have to see though as we have a removable one.

You can get Anderson connectors that look like this for the power and ground wire for easy removal.

Then use some standard automotive plugs for the speaker wires and a bullet connector for the remove wire.

If you make a false floor you can drill some holes in and but cover them with fabric so the amps can still breath quite well.

what about under the rear seat? I've never done it in a wagon, but I've stored amps under the seat a few times in the past and never had any issues

Edit: except for that one time I drilled the fuel tank. :oopssign:

Under rear seat wont work. Under the front seats is the best option (Take it from my experience!)

Yeah starting to think that's my main option, the key is I don't want wires galore going through to the back of the wagon, just a sub cable should be good enough and can move the sub to the back seat for drive in nights.

How do you guys go about mounting under the seats?

Ok so there are various ways you can mount amps under the seat, some are:

-Velcro Tape, use enough of this and you shouldn't need any screws.
-MDF Board, screw the amp into this and use Velcro tape on the board.
-3mm Aluminium bar, bent and cut into shape, use a factory screw/bolt/nut to secure it and attach it to MDF board, and screw the amp into that.

Option 3 is the best but unless you can weld it might be quite tricky. Those obviously are ways that you don't need to screw into the car, but the option is your.

Heres an example of my floor pods I made, I used the factory seat bolts in combination with aluminum bar to secure them 100%

Wow that's very clever!

Thanks for that, the MDF board+velcro sounds like a goer

I like the idea of using the the rear seat bolts of the front seat... i.e. loosen all the bolts. lift the rear of the seat, place bracket, replace seat, tighten bolts... 3 pieces of alumium strap and 2 sets of nuts and bolts should do it...

I put my brackets on top of the seat rail, they conform the the little lips quite well since 3mm is easily manipulated, I did think about putting the bracket under the seat rails but I prefer the seat to have full contact with the chassis.

I've always just used velcro strips directly to the Carpet.... Never had an issue... :)

I installed mine under the passenger on a set of lifted rails so it didn't over heat. Best place to install an amp IMO

Mate that is a very neat install! I like the cage/vent thing and the neat cabling.
