Hey guys,

So, I was driving my mate home today, and we went over some train tracks. All good normally, except there was a hidden drop, and my left side of the car hit the road slightly harder than expected. Didn't think anything of it, until I realized a bit down the road that my cruise light on the dash was out. Tried to turn it back on, nothing happened.

That's when I realized my temp gauge had dropped to dead cold.
Tcl button does nothing now (on the dash at least) and my trip meter reads 0.1 except when I'm stopped, when it reads --.

Cruise actually DOES seem to work, but the dash indicator doesn't.

Any suggestions as to what may have happened?
I don't want to drive it if there's a chance something's wrong - I only drove it home, but that was still a good 20 minute drive. The actual engine sounds fine, and there was no issue with gears or anything. The drive seemed exactly as it did before.

Thanks,
James.

Check your fuses.

As above check all your kick panel fuses and the engine bay fuses however its a strange issue that's for sure.

I'm assuming some of the lights and gauges work while some dont?

Sounds like what would happen if your dash cluster wasn't seated properly, I have reinstalled my dash in the past, but not quite done it tight enough and some stuff worked and others didnt.

I'll check through all the fuses again soon - but the ones I thought might normally MAYBE affect things in this way seem to be fine.
Is it likely to be a sensor or something that's maybe come loose? Although the fact that the cruise is working, but the dash light isn't coming on is weird. But if it was the cluster, then wouldn't the trip computer be fine?
I'm more worried about driving it around - but it's the only form of transport I have right now.

Thank you for your help so far guys - anything else you may think of would help enormously.

All the fuses seem to be fine.
Considering it was a fair jolt to the left side I was hoping it was a fuse, but obviously not. :(

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Good chance I'm wrong, but you may as well try, press against the dash cluster 'glass' around different points and see if any of the stuff starts working

Shall do - sorry, didn't mean to disregard your response - I wasn't sure how to test it!

Didn't seem to work - but Mal thinks it might be the same thing. So I'll take it to him and see what he says. :)
And hopefully not blow a hose anything in the meantime!
Thanks again guys.

Check connections at back of the cluster, including the connector to the back top left, and also the connector on the back of the trip computer. Also check where the main dash harness connects (grey connector IIRC) near the fuse box.
