Got a 92 Mitsubishi Magna elite with ETACS. When i brought it i only got MIT8 key, don't know if this has anything to do with it. Had an auto electrician come out and he couldn't find an issue yet my car still does not start. It cranks but doesn't start. As far as I am aware it has fuel, spark and compression (according to the monkey off elec'y). I don't think he even used an MUT II. When i brought the car i was told it needs a slight need a timing adjustment. So i have a no start issue it's really doing my head in.

Car still won't start! Also has strange buzzing noise when gears were checked. Ready to start working on it myself and stop wasting my money on time wasting mechanics.

Hmmmm "time wasting mechanics" well I guess I can not assist then
But if you have fuel, spark and compression, provided these are all happening at the correct time then the engine will start. Clearly either 1 of these items is missing or 1 or more of these items are not occuring at the correct time
How do you know you have spark
How do you know you have fuel (and no a fuel guage is not an indication)
Do you have an injector pulse, do you have spark at the correct time. Did you go out to the car one day and it just would not start?
So many unanswered questions here that will need to be answered
I am dumbfounded what MUTII will also do, most of these tests are done without the use of a MUTII plus the MUTII while can be used on a TR was not speficifally made for the TR series and functions are limited, finally aside from myself there are only a handful of non dealership workshops who have these, they are a rare and very expensive bit of kit

Buzzing noise while ignition on, engine off and swapping auto gears with the stick is normal - solenoids in the box trying to redirect fluid flow to select a gear, but of course the fluid isn't flowing because the engine is off, and the solenoids throw a spasm.
Don't expect any mechanic to look at your car and "see" an instant problem and answer, doesn't work like that. Trouble shooting takes time, effort, intelligence and some investigation. Having a frustrated and jittery owner stand behind you looking at his watch every 5 minutes doesn't help.
As above, check spark & fuel, and take it from there.
Probably worth mentioning what engine and Km you have. The "timing adjustment" it needs - is this ignition timing, or cam timing? Could be anything from a failed ignition coil or jumped cam chain if it is a high Km 4 cylinder.

2.6L auto 4g54 8 valve (Astron II). Its weird that it passed a roady and the next day wouldnt start! I've been thinking immo too Liam. @ Madmagna got fuel, pulse, spark. Cranks but won't start. When i first brought the car I noticed the timing was a little out when the timing chain was replaced. I should mention i brought the car off 4R motors in seaford. Also have the workshop manual which is handy.

So has fuel, injector pulse and spark, we'll then either no compression or timing is out
Btw, rwc has sfa to do with a starting issue, rwc is a safety check and is not a condition report

Must be timing. After changing a head gasket, this happened to me. Try to start with aerostart, straight down the intake. That should give a few fires, even with bad timing or whatever else it could be.
Remember if you time it, hook up the advance/retard wire to disable advance and retard. It is electronic.

if timingss a long way out won't do a thing unless it fires on exhaust stroke and you get a nice bang out the exhaust up up thru the intake on induction stroke!!
