Hi all, i replaced the front struts in my TS 2.6 Magna, its stopped the "bang" when I hit a pothole but there's still a clunk rattle in the left hand side, could this be the strut top being worn? the car has done 145,000 k's cheers

Could be swaybar bushes or swaybar links also..

Does it sound almost like a frog croaking? Does it seem to rattle in sync with ups and downs in the surface of the road? If so, I had the same noise at one point, I was sure it was the strut top or there about, took me months to figure out what it was, but one day i changed the tires, noise was gone! I still have no idea what exactly was making the noise... But it's never come back!

Frog croaking from a tyre? lol Yes, I've had that. Bought a wheel years ago from the wreckers and it had been sitting in a water filled open boot. Turned out the tyre was damaged and water had entered and rusted the steel belts. The noise was the rusty steel belts rubbing on each other.
Strange but true.
In this case though, it is probably the strut top or the spring isn't seated correctly.

Hi thanks for your reply, not a croaking sound, just a thud clunk kind of sound, I seem to notice it more a really low speeds, cheers

Cool thanks for that I will check that I have fitted the spring properly, cheers
