Hey guys,
Just wondering if it is possible to wind the kms up or down on a cluster?
reason is that I need to replace my cluster but it will be impossible to get one with the exact same kilometers so I was wondering how I could make it the same.
Cheers,
Ben

You wind up the kms quite easily by simulating the car driving using the rpm signal of a PC fan, however winding back will require special tools that only mitsy has access too.
I suppose if you were super technically minded and had a few clusters to kill then you could find the onboard chip/processor etc and then work out how to modify it to lower the kms.
Best would be to buy a cluster with less km's than your car and then check either my ride thread or "magna_vrx_turbo"s one to setup the circuit. We both advanced our clusters due to getting ones with less than kms that our cars had. Relatively simple circuit just requires a few tricks.

In that case, if it is easier to wind up then I will find one with lower kilometers and go from there. I also have a scan tool that I was hoping that could change it but I don't think it has that option.

Be careful because you might find you are technically breaking one of the consumer laws.

There's nothing illegal about altering the kms to match the car's currently km's actually. It's only illegal if you inaccurately modify/change the km's (e.g. lower the car's km's).
Advancing the cluster to match my car's km's was not illegal one bit. I could've popped that cluster with 130km in the car, despite my car having 155km at the time, and you'd be none the wiser.

Just use a tiny watch makers screw driver. There's little indents to the side of each number that you can use as leverage. Just be careful not to scratch the numbers.

How many kms are you looking at and for what model? I have a spare cluster with analogue odometer from a TF Sports (suitable for TE - TJ series 1 (96-01) with 161267km on it if you are interested.

I was going to pull out my cluster to get the part number off it, so I can match it up. I am looking for one with kilometers between 195,000-200,000.
