We towed a 500,000km TE magna in a little while ago. The owner was complaining that it wouldn't steer properly. On further investigation we found this.

The lower control arm has actually slipped forward on a worn front bush and worn through the K frame. The unfunny part about it was that the owner had into a wheel alignment specialist 2 weeks before.

That's unusual for sure!
Must have been funny in the steering for quite a while. What does it take for some people to get under a car to see WTF is going on?
Would not have been a cheap fix like that.
A good heads-up for all you Magna owners approaching the 1/2 million km mark.

Wheel alignment guy must be blind. No other explanation is possible. lol

I have sadly seen this a couple of times, not quite that bad but then again not far from this

Issue is often brought down to the back yard service guy, person who thinks that saving a couple hundred $$ and does his own service will be far cheaper until then something goes wrong that someone doing a proper service would have checked for signs of this happening. Clearly this was not quite the case as you stated had a wheel allignment just 2 weeks prior, seems that the allignemnt place has something to account for as there is no way an allignement could have been done with that much wear, would have been a mile off

Again, shows that it does pay to get the car checked professionally now and again even if you do some of your own oil changes there still needs to be some sort of inspection done by someone who knows what they are doing and can get the car off the ground once in a while

I had this problem in a tj I bought that had been paddock bashed. I think the car had been hit in the wheel while in reverse, or hit a pothole while doing reverse doughnuts. I ended up changing the k frame, strut and cv.
