Hi everyone, I'm doing a bit of restoration on my 97 KF Verada Xi, and the driver seat has worn through the leather on the drivers seat bolster.
What options are available to fix or replace? The seat still works well but looking a bit tired after 296,000km. Any recommendations in the western suburbs of Melbourne?
I saw someone selling some howe leather seat covers set for a TJ magna on ebay, but am unsure whether they will fit the 'rada seats properly, or indeed how to install them.

I've used Elima Dent (Ex Member - MCHenry) although he's based in SA, he does Leather Repairs.
You could also try The Vinyl Doctor too.. Never used them though

Pull the seat out and take it to a motor trimmer. Fresh material matching the current colours is best, the TJ Howe covers, if original, would be how old? Might look good but won't last long.

I recommend - www.uniqueautointeriors.com/
He is located at 232 Edwardes Street Reservoir, I had all 4 door cards plus new gear boot, and gear knob and the console lid all done for $260 cash.
Great guy to talk to knows his stuff and has a huge range.

I have the HOWE leather trim listed.

Couple of things, you will need to modify the front passenger seat to fit, as it is trimmed for a power seat. There are no holes for the lumbar levers, as the seats the trim is deisgned for had electric lumbar.
I simply fitted power lumbar and the power seat. But you can hide the holes on the passenger side.

Mcs_xi,
Can a passenger side power seat be fitted to a KF Xi? Is there a wire connector under the seat waiting for the controls from the donor seat to be plugged into? I ask because some cars (Mazdas mainly) have all the sockets in place even if the options weren't fitted to the car as delivered.
Also, with the HOWE set were you able to install them yourself or did it need to go to a trimmer to have the old leather covers removed from the seats and the new ones fitted?

Hi buddy.
No the plug isn't there. Also the seat will need to come from USA.
There are a few power passenger seats from the KJ2 XI, but it will be easier to get one from the states.
