G'day guys,
My 3.0lt 97 model TF magna sports distributor,has the part# TOT57671.
When i checked this part#,TOT57671,it is to suit TE,TF,TJ,TH 3.5lt engines.

I'm assuming it suits the 3 and 3.5 lt engines? Could someone please confirm this.

Thanks

Seeing the ignition mapping is done by the ECU and not the distributor, you would expect them to be the same.
Can someone who has actually done this swap either way confirm?

From memory they're different, see my conversion details here: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64826&p=1143879&viewfull=1#post1143879

Max, please is there really a need to comment in every freaking thread........if you don't know move on

Op, yes they are different and 3.0 will not work in a 3.5

Why is the part# on my distributor,3.0lt the exact same as the part# for the 3.5lt.

Would the fact that it's a sports have anything to do with it?

Hi,see links. Both these adds on ebay seem to confirm that the distributor TOT57671 fits both 3.0lt and 3.5lt. Cheers

According to this (http://ishop2.cooldrive.com.au/products/82-119), the 3.0L V6 from TE to TF and apparently the 2.0L V6 '97 galant has the TOT27671

I just replaced my distributor with part# TOT57671 from a 3.5lt.It went into my 3.0lt and away she went. So,the dizzy TOT57671 from a 3.5lt does work in the 3.0lt with same part number.
My car is a 97 TF and the distributor came out of a TJ.

Well, I did say "Can someone who has actually done this swap either way confirm?" in my post.

Kind of makes this post a bit of a concern. lol How exactly are they different then? Same part number after all.

I have used a 3.0ltr dizzy out of my 97 magna in my 2001 3.5 verada it does work the saw tooth generator in the dizzy died it was going like an old holden on 1 cylinder. I purchased a dizzy with cap & rotor off ebay for 50 bucks + 16 postage bargain.
