I've seen a few threads about turbo first gens and I became curious. I spoke to a fellow at the local speedway who races a Sigma. He told me there are many ways to do it.

1) Add a turbo set up to a magna 2.6 EFI
2) replace engine with a 2.0L Turbo from sigma or lancer
Or do what he did
3) buy a fuel injected 2.6L Turbo Starion ESI-R from the US and swap the engine, gearbox and ECU.

Any other thoughts on
1) Which method is preferred
2) the difficulty of a turbo mod
3) any queensland legal issues eg. Mod plates and insurance issues.

if you want it for the road
you have to use a qld transport certified engineer

you would possibly up for several thousand dollars
to make it a turbo

dont buy a s/hand turbo .. fit an oil cooled one

Does the qld transport certified engineer just inspect it or do you have to have someone else install it all for you.

before you start ......you can diy but
you need his signature on all the mechanical parts and paper work
and that gets you the mod plate for the fire wall
