Anyone using nitrogen in their tires? I only found out about this a week or so ago - local mechanic/tyre workshop. They're charging $10 per tyre....

Just wondering if anyone is using nitrogen & what you think of it...

One of my mates works for Beauies - has done for a fair while..

Unless you're cooking your tyres above 150kph for long periods of time - then it is pure fap - no benefit whatsoever

and $10 per wheel is a hefty price for some air

Then there is no value added - I would save your $40 bucks for a carton of XXXX or whatever you northerners drink in the hot weather :P

The RACQ site sums it up well. If you were offered nitrogen for free I wouldn't turn it down, but there's no way I'd pay $10/tyre for it.

Haha exactly what I was thinking!

Doesn't the new GTR come standard with nitrogen filled tyres? understandable on a performance car...

When I went to Bob Jane to get new tyres fitted, they asked if I wanted nitrogen in the tyres, but they quoted me $5 each.

Don't worry, I didn't get it done, I only had enough cash to pay for the tyres, fitting and wheel alignment so I gave the nitrogen a miss.

Dont waste your money on this Mal. If they offer for free, then by all means, do it. Otherwise, if charging more, don't bother. You would never notice the difference.

I always use 80% nitrogen: works well for me, always has.

Then you must be adding extra nitrogen, as it's 78.084% of the atmosphere!

Yeah, I was once conned by Bob Jane Tyremart many years ago into putting nitrogen in the new tyres at $5 a pop, never again.
