As the title says,

I'm enquiring about the factory floor mats for the 380. I have a new set here but before opening them I thought I'd enquire today at Mitsubishi for another set before ruining the set I have if they're no longer available.

Today I got told the "380 GT" embroided ones are now obsolete. One dealer told me all carpet ones were also sold and another said there are the rubber ones available (which look crap) or the carpet ones that are available are for the manual models with just "380" embroided on them.

When I asked about the difference between the auto and manual type they said there is a difference due to the foot rest.

So my question is how much of a difference, if any? I don't recall there being a difference when I test drove one but I could be wrong.

I guess the only thing to do is ask if someone with the factory manual floor mats can take a picture of the drivers side mat for comparison to the auto one before I commit to one of the last manual sets available.

Cheers boys and girls :)

I have a manual 380 VRX here, the VRX floor mats from that car are now in my 380 auto and are a perfect fit

Currently I have 9 sets of the new carpet floor mats in stock, these are just the base 380 ones without VRX or anything else on them. These were listed for the auto but as I said I doubt there is much difference as the foot rest looks the same visually without taking measurements

Cheers for that Mal,

So I just had a quick search on carsales.com and went through each manual ad looking to see if there were any with floor mats.

Found these two pics

So there is a little extra bit that goes up under the clutch but as you said Mal the foot rest looks the same.

Can I ask what you're chasing for a new set of mats with just the "380" embroided on them?

Cheers

Edit: (excuse the mess) just took a pic of my foot rest, there is a slight difference in the shape of the foot rest..

Kif,

I have the manual "380" embroidered factory mats in mine, bought them from the local dealer four years ago.

And yes, the driver's mat has a "tongue'' that goes up under where the clutch is, but it is well clear of the footrest, just like the one in your first pic.

So I reckon a set of base model (embroidered with just "380") manual ones will fit perfectly OK in an auto, and the tongue won't get in the way of anything.

I was hoping you'd see this thread TreeAdeyMan knowing you had a manual one :)

Thanks for clarifying that mate. Mitsubishi have a set in their Sydney warehouse which is down the street from my work but they don't allow pick-ups from the distribution centre so I have to go to a dealer and wait a day for a courier.

Bit of an update.

Phoned up another Mitsubishi dealer today asking about the "380 GT" mats and he said none in stock, they haven't been removed from the system if they are obselete so I can order a set. I did so and he said they'll take between 2-3 weeks to arrive IF there are any about.

Payment was made, at lunch time today I received a phone call saying they found a last set covered in dust in the warehouse... They were here in Sydney and were delivered straight away. Picked them up this arvo.

I asked if there were any more located, he said that's all they found and if there are any sets left they aren't in the factory but possibly in stock at some Mitsubishi spare parts places so best to ask there....

Pretty happy with the out come.
