View Full Version : Quick question about suspension knocking noise

About a month ago I noticed an intermiitant single knock coming from under the car. It wasn't very frequent at that time but lately has been much more prevalent.
It could happen at any time, accelerating, gear changing, braking, turning or just cruising.

I took it to a local mechanic I've used once before and after checking it on the hoist he diagnosed worn link rods on the front. (I hope that's the right name)
I was dubious but as he was very confident I agreed to have them replaced.

So far after picking up the car today and taking it for a spin it hasn't made the knock. So I assume he was right, but I've never heard of this happening so I'm curious if anyone on the forum has come across this problem and how common it is? My car is a KW Verada AWD that's done 89K.

Thanks, and sorry it wasn't exactly a quick question after all.

i had a "strange" occasional knocking noise that seemed to occur mainly on acceleration & it turned out to be a strut tower bolt that was loose...similar sound now appeared on the RH side but ive had it checked & everything is tight apparently? might need to take it to another workshop to get it inspected...
