Hey my interior light doesn't respond to the drivers door opening and closing. Is it as simple as a new button. If so is that an easy DIY fix?

yep. Unscrew the switch and uplug. Reverse it for the replacement.
Before you do that, make sure the interior light has simply not just been switched off. And that if it is a dead door switch, the little red door light should be non-functional for that door.

Another thing i just remembered. If the front headlights are on and you open the drivers door it has a warning buzer but i have found that sometimes the buzzer doesn't go off as if it hasn't registered that the door is open. Do you think that would be related to the same switch

Yeah. Either the lock module is shagged, or 99% more likely, the door switch is shagged.

Thanks heaps man. by shagged u mean rooted, or screwed as in broken right..?

They both mean the same thing. Screwed = shagged = broken.
