Hi, we just got a 2nd-hand TW Magna wagon and want to get a dash mat for it. Will the ones made for earlier models (TE onwards) fit a TW? I went into Super Cheap Auto where they had the TE-TJ ones in stock and asked about this, and they chased up with their supplier who said they no longer do one for a TW. That's got me confused because other info suggests earlier ones should be OK:

- Another supplier just says "MAGNA TE 4/96 ON" http://www.motoquipe.com.au/buy/dashmat-grey-magna-te-4-96-on-m3106/1115

- On this thread someone said the TL dash is same as TE-TJ (so same might apply to TW?) http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40125&pagenumber=

Thanks in advance,

Steve

They should fit provided you get the ones suitable for passenger airbags which should be the norm......

Any third gen dash mat will fit, provided you get the right one. lol Two versions, for cars with and without passenger airbag. Make sure you get the right one!

Thanks vlad & MadMax, that's good news.

Hey that link to the Shevron dashmat reminds me, why does it seem like the TW doesn't exist? It says the mat is for TE-TF-TH-TJ-TL, no mention of TW. I've seen the same when looking at other products like tow bars too. I'm guessing the TW update was so minor I'd be pretty safe buying pretty much ANYTHING for a TL but it's always worrying not to see TW listed :)

TW is officially a TL Series 2 and that is why you have a series 2 badge at the back.

The only major difference (cosmetically) was that the KW Veradas had the extended front and rear bumpers and side reflectors.

I have a dashmat that will fit if you have dual airbags

And a Black raised number plate support on the front, plus colour coded headlights.. ( and different ES hubcaps if you want to get fussy lol )

I have a TJ dash mat in my TW, They all clear the Passenger airbag.. I could use a TE unit if I wanted, but for the OP, Use the TL dash mat as guide...
Pretty sure some TJ's got dual airbags too...

Got the Super Cheap Auto "home brand" (SCA) dash mat for TE-TJ in the post yesterday, and it's perfect for our TW.

BTW regarding "TW is officially a TL Series 2 and that is why you have a series 2 badge at the back", I don't seem to have that badge for some reason. The car was built Jul '05, maybe they had run out of badges by then :)

Thanks everyone for your help, this is all much clearer now and will certainly help me in the future too.

If it was built in July 05 A its a TW, not a series 2 TL, check your vin number, there were series 2 TJ's and they arn't TL's

Check your facts re tl/w. Better yet do an image search for back of tl/w and no there were no tl series 2 like in the tjs.

I'm not saying there was a series 2 TL, I'm saying if it was built in July 05 its a TW not a series 2 TL like the other guy thought, please read my post properly and work out what I'm saying before you make a comment.

You should read what I wrote. All tw and kw are badged series 2 and internally known as tl and kl series 2. Ls were built from 03 to 04 and ws were built from 04 to 05.

Edit:
See pic of back of this 2004 TL magna (http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/mitsubishi-magna-2004-13851636?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=4&eapi=2&__N=4294964371%201246%201252%201247%204294964597%2 04294964374%201216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=default): no series 2 badge.

You can also just make out the series 2 badge on my avatar pic. OP's series 2 badge was probably removed.

For the most part this info will help. There is a few difference that might come out and bite you.. The floor pan changed a little and floor mats are a crappy fit in a TL-KW, Front door trims and window switches, courtesy door lighting wiring looms just to name a few..
