just wondering if anyone can help me out with some info...
i decided to change the oil in my auto today just cause it was about time to do it.
i did the change and then it wouldnt change up into 3rd at all. i tried doing the reset on it and again no luck. it would shift into 3rd but not ingage then flare and it would then go into safe mode and lock in 3rd. but after my ast effort to do the reset without any luck on my way home i lost all gears. now i have nothing at all. no drive gears and no reverse.
aart from doing a complete box change is there anything else i can try to fix it before going down the path of a new box.

cheers boyde

Did you use the correct oil?

Check fluid pressure, sounds like you have destroyed the fluid pump or the trans is very low on fluid

yeah correct fluid.
the fluid level was low before the oil change, when i dumped it only got around 7 to 7 1/2 liters out of it.
fluid pump could be right would explain it.... is it something worth looking into or should i just replace it.
by the way the car has done 310000km alot of it country driving but still alot.
i'm thinking a change over will be the easiest and probably the cheapest option.
if i go the replacement what are my options with getting one. and what kinda cost is involved fitting it???

doesn't look like a hard job to do really. bit fiddly maybe but should only take few hours i reckon.

dont know what it was looked it up in the castroll book in the store. put in 8.5 liters.

dont think that matters as pretty sure i heard something let go before i lost power so it'll either need repairing or replacing.
which ever is the best option long term i will go with. thinking thats going to be replacment by the sounds of it.

cheers

So you did a drain and refil then, not a flush

Drain and refill is only 5.5l, if you got more than this out or put more than this it is way over full. Over filling is as bad as under filling
