Ive had my 2007 series 3 vrx for 5 days now, and while I am completely happy with the car, I was devestated when I went to start her this morning and she wouldnt tick over. Starter motors working, but I almost killed the battery turning the key constantly. Finally got it to turn over, but now I have a CEL on the dash. Whyyyyyyy!?! Wasnt overly cold this morning, and this has all happened with no warning. Devestated....

Any car with a CanBUS computer system detects and logs low voltage between modules as potential "diagnostic trouble codes" and in some cases can cause the check engine light to come up. Given it took you some time to start the car, the issue could be as simple as a flat\dying battery.
I doubt its anything too serious, but if you give Mitsfix a call, he'll be able to hook your car up to the MUTIII diagnostic computer to check the code.

You need a new battery. It has enough juice to crank, but voltage drop while cranking is causing strange sensor readings and ECU fault.
Do a search - significant history of this problem on all 380s.
New battery and the light will clear itself in a few 100km.

Is a common issue when the battery has a low crank voltage, enough to turn the motor over but not enough to get the car to start as the ecu will not fire up. Get a good hi capacity battery and after a bit of a drive will clear the code
Is not just 380's with this issue, many newer cars have this issue, even the Magna would have similar where it would fire and then immediately stall
