Hi there
My SRS light on dash is driving me crazy, no accident ,no deployment just came on.
Auto Elec scanned as code 92 left side sensor failure and reckons wiring and ECU is all OK.
Several Dealers and wreckers are telling me they never sell them! never heard of them going faulty unless deployed.Got another one from the wreckers but light still on, have tried disconnecting battery for 30 minutes as well but no change.
If I do manage to fix problem will dash light extinquish itself or will it still need reset by scanner to turn light off.
Grateful for any help while I still have my sanity.
:eek2:

SRS fault codes have to be cleared. This should happen after you replace the sensor. Go back to the bloke who read the code and get him to clear it.

So because there is an SRS code stored in memory it will also keep the dash light on even if the problem is fixed?

yep. You have to clear the code. You cannot disconnect the battery to do that

It's designed that way so the dealer can check if everything is working as it should before he resets the SRS light. May not work as designed in an accident if the light is on.

my SRS light occasionally comes on, and then goes away after a minute or so...
