Hi guys,

I took your advice and have ordered a set of QFM HPX pads Fr & R to replace the Bendix Ultimates and TRW RBF600 Dot 4 Racing Brake Fluid from Brakes Direct for my 2006 LS.

However, given that I have only done around $3000 k's with the RDA slotted rotors and the Ultimates, do you think I should get the discs machined or only replace the pads? I note on the QFM webste that they recommend machineing the discs but they may be refrring to brakes which have been on for 50,000 k's. It seems a waste of money to do that after doing so few k's.

Thanks

Depends on the condition of the disc surface. Should still look as new after only 3,000 km, so don't bother with a skim. The pads should still be as new too, why change?
Usually pads get replaced after about 50,000 km because they are worn out, and a disc skim may be needed.

If you are after better brake performance, fair enough. Pass the barely used Ultimates on to someone who likes them, don't chuck them out.

3000 Kms would most likely be fine Kevin.
Just give them a quick visual and put the we pads on.

Thanks guys.
Decided to get rid of the Ultimates because of the damage they do to the disc surface and the huge amount of dust they create. But I will sell them I should get a few $ for them being so new.
